EDIT: Corporate Store btw
Needed to pick up the extended battery for my T-Bolt. I love HTC's design and implementation aside from battery life
Since I knew what I needed to purchase I was forced to wait for about 20-30 minutes on an associate. It was very busy and I should know better than to go at 6pm. It gave me an excuse to play with the latest crop of phones.
Droid Charge- The screen jumps out at you. I realize this is personal preference but I don't prefer it. I'm a photographer (at heart) and really hate the over saturated screens. However, that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be great for gaming. I'm sure it'd rock for games. Honestly the screen feels larger than my T-Bolt, and for me that wasn't a good thing. I can't hate too much, I don't see Charge owners running into the store for an extended battery (which they were sold out of the T-Bolt's battery...not a good sign lol)
Droid X2 - It's a Droid X with the same crappy Ninja Blur but a dual-core CPU that can't be fully utilized. I actually owned a Droid X for a few months. It's a great phone once it was rooted and I put Liberty on it. It was my favorite rom for that phone. Again, I never hear Motorola users complain about the battery. I didn't really notice a huge difference in the display. Maybe if I had spent more time with it.
Droid Incredible 2 - I actually owned the DInc for about 7 months and loved it. This feels like a polished up 2011 model. The screen didn't even feel larger to me, even though it is. Maybe it's because it was surrounded by all these 4.3" phones?
LG Revolution - This feels like a solid and very nice phone to hold. The UI was very responsive, but then I found a few little LG customizations that I wasn't a huge fan of. Mainly sounds (like I had experienced on older LG phones) and the dialer. It seems like a solid phone, but doesn't really stand out too much from the crowd. Again, maybe I didn't give it enough time.
That was about it, I had roughly 3-5 minutes with each phone. Not enough time to get a solid opinion. If I didn't have my T-Bolt and needed to choose one of these phones for my next one...I'm not sure which I'd pick. It would probably be the DX2 or the Charge. I'd just feel more confident in the battery life of each device. Even if I hate the UI I can always switch to a different launcher and possibly install a custom ROM. Since 4G is in my area I'd probably go with the Charge. If my area wasn't slated until 2012/2013 to receive 4g then the X2 would probably win out.
Those who are searching for a new phone on Verizon...you are looking at a good time. There are many options and flavors to satisfy just about any desire. There is one exception I guess...an Android phone with a great keyboard. Verizon really needs one.
BTW...The store was sold out but I did manage to get and extended battery online. The sad part was that even the store couldn't order one for me. How does that work?
