Help Store to memory card on HTC Desire?

Hi all! I just got and HTC Desire (my first smartphone). And I keep getting a notification saying I'm running low on internal memory. Is there a way to store apps on my memory card? Additionally, what else can I store on my memory card and how do I do so?

Also, how do I increase the storage size of text messages? Thanks so much for any help!

I'll second AppstoSD - great little app that lets you move those apps that can be moved to your SD card quickly and easily.

You can also store your images on your SD card too, ringtones, I store my notes on mine as well as my SMS backups.

Sweet, thanks! I heard about "rooting" my HTC Desire. I don't want to do that since I heard it would void a warranty. Is using this APPSTOSD app considered "rooting" a phone?

Also, when I search for "AppstoSD," the first app that shows is A.I File Manager. Is that the one?

Downloading an app from the market does not root the phone.

There are apps which only work on rooted phones, but even installing these will not root the phone - they just won't work. Don't worry, you can't accidentally root the phone :)

Thanks for all your suggestions! Now, are there detailed instructions on how to use the app? I downloaded it, but am so confused. Again, a smartphone/Android newbie here. :)
