Help Storing to micro sd card

I will be receiving my eagerly awaited new galaxy note next Friday and in earnest I have purchased a 16gb micro sd card ready to start storing all my photos music and videos etc on the card so when I receive the handset I can just bang it in and be ready to go but what I need to know is there a specific way things need to be stored on the card for the handset to be able to read the information etc ? Also can I store the photos ready under folders/albums ? Many thanks in advance.

Whenever you turn on the phone it scans the internal and external storage for media of all types. The only directory which "escapes" this indexing is the usbStorage folder on the phone itself. So, you should be able to use whatever folder structure you want.

That being said application sorting can probably only be done by that application. So, you will probably have to wait to get the phone to do that. Of course this is a guess since I only store mp3s on my phone ;)

Eric Ritchie.

What i done was i stored my photos in the DCIM folder if there is one and my mp3's in the music folder and so on with other media if the card is empty and these folders aren't present just make them easy organisation

Eric above is obv 100% correct as the phone does a Media scan and config as soon as it detects a media card

There is an App called "Apps to SD" in the market so download that as well so you can backup your App's to the SD card just incase anything happens to the handset.

hope thats been a nice little add on for ya

Adrian
