Strange 3g connectivity issue

Hello all. I have had the Elite through Virgin Mobile for a few weeks and really like the phone. Only problem is while I'm at work my 3g connection constantly goes down. Signal strength remains strong and the 3g icon stays on but I can't get online at all. I have found 2 things that temporarily help. One is to dial my voicemail and hang up after a few seconds. This gets the data streaming again for a bit as soon as i end the call. Another thing that gets the data going again is to turn the phone off and power it back on. I have tried two different Elites and both have the same symptoms. 3g seems to work fine on other coworkers phones (some with Sprint too). I have tried Airplane Mode, pulling the battery etc. Am I the only person with this problem?

I had the same problem, try factory reset from the security menu (+ user data)

And also update the PRL. I suspect that is the part that really fixed mine from constantly switching towers and losing internet all the time.

Check out the root subforum, there's a prl swap thread where I learned the answer. you need to download a recent one for sprint, and get your MSL code for your phone (its a real pain if you do the known method in the root forum but you can call virgin and be nice say your a developer and need it for something) Then use QPST for the rest.

I think I found a solution by typing in the *#*#4636#*#* code and changing network setting to cdma only. 3g is staying connected for now but seems slower maybe...It does act like this could be a PRL issue so I will try to update that when I get a chance.
