Help Strange message issue

Hi guys and gals
Ive got a lovely white x10i on Orange Uk and everytime someone from Vodafone sends me a text it takes ages for it to come through unless I turn 3G on.
Other people on other networks like O2, Virgin, T-Mobile etc are fine its just Vodafone.

I just want to know whats wrong and why it matters for 3G to be on seem as its just a text message.

More than likely a network issue. Give Orange a ring and see what they come up with.

I thought it could be something with my network but surely it would have issues with the other networks.
Its only with Vodafone so I think it might be something with there network

Forgot to say that its just a normal sms not a mms or any sort of data that needs 3G to be on
