Strange Ringing Noise

I've been hearing a ringing noise that comes from the earpiece of my phone. It'st sounds like the ringer of an office telephone but much quieter. Anyone know if there's a way to stop it?

Answer it. There is a stock ringer of the sort, you might have it selected and you might have the ringer volume set low... can
