Just got a used MyTouch 3G from eBay and plugged it in to charge then powered it up after a good hour or so to a startup icon that shows a white box with an open top and an orange arrow coming out pointing to the green Android robot. The screen has been sitting like this for a good while now, between 2 and 3 hours. Any ideas on what to do or what the icon means? Any help would be much appreciated!

That's the stock Recovery icon. Did you push any button other than power?
Pull the battery, and then try again.
