hello all
i am having problems that i cannot understand - it is hard to diagnose. all the things i list here started at the same time so i have good reason to believe it is all linked.
it looks like the google accounts are not syncing properly. it also looks like dropbox is not syncing.
dropbox: i cannot upload to dropbox. uploads register but the progress bar never starts. but i can view and download files. when i go to settings/accounts the dropbox sync icon is not green, but i read that this is normal?
gmail: i use two accounts. one works fine. the other cannot send emails. they get stuck in outbox. in settings/accounts the icons have gone red sometimes, also sometimes showing message "autosync is not working, will be back soon" but not always. i have deleted cache, data and removed and reconnected both accounts. i have tried a number of forum tricks involving airplane mode, forwarding and drafts and nothing has helped. the issue is persistant.
google: it seems some google content is blocked. i had a problem with maps, but that is working again. play store app will not open (times out).
internet: when i use the address bar to search (powered by google) it hangs up. if i go to google.com i can search using the website. i cannot access play store website by following links - it hangs up always at about 20%.
i have unlimited data contract and good coverage. other apps like youtube and facebook work fine. the phone is not rooted but i do like to customise stuff.
i understand this is a lot of info - if anyone can help me narrow down what the root problem is i would really appreciate it.
