Help Stream Issues on WiFi when phone goes to sleep

Anyone else happen to have issues streaming while on wifi? I stream iHeartRadio every morning as I get ready on wifi and after the phone screen turns off or goes to sleep, the stream stops after about 10-15 seconds. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it doesn't stop, but more times than not it seems to just cut off. The second I wake the phone up it continues immediately and this icon in the notification bar pops up, looks like a dot with lines around it.

I had heard about some feature in the Android OS that conserves battery by turning wifi off during sleep or something like that. Anyone else seeing this? It works fine on 4g, but would rather not waste my data since I had to sacrifice my unlimited data plan to the Verizon Gods to upgrade my phone.

Go to settings. Click WiFi settings. Press menu button (3 dots), select advanced and set Keep WiFi During Sleep to Always.

Just checked that out, it was already set to always. But I noticed the WiFi optimization was checked and claims to save battery, so that may be the culprit. Ill test that out.

It's probably making your WiFi sleep after a small amount of time.

Also under the Power setting you can switch off "Sleep Mode"
