Streaming camera footage to Xbox?

Please bear with me, I'm a complete techno numptie...

I've recently discovered Twonkey and the fact that I can stream media from my phone to the Xbox and watch it on the big screen. Very cool :D

However, it would be nice to be able to watch video shot on the phone camera in the same way.
From what I can make out, it doesn't currently work because the camera files are .3gp which the Xbox doesn't support.
I converted a .3gp file to an mpeg but then the phone doen't see it!
Is there a media convertor I can use that will use a format compatible with both? if so, will it still be HD?

Cheers,

Chris

You don't need any third party app to stream media from your DHD to your Xbox. It can do this through your home network with the HTC software pre-installed. You will have issues with file formats you can stream. IE divx seems to be a problem and maybe .3gp

Have you tried Twonky?
Technically, you should be able to use the phone's dlna built-in (via your router & server), but it would appear that it's not as simple as everybody hoped.

Twonky makes it simple (still uses upnp or dlna); it scans your phone for media, scans your network for connected devices... & badda-bing... streaming.

Thanks all, yes it works brilliantly onTwonky, except I can't watch the phone shot video's (*.3gp)
I guess I'll have to get the DLNA box thingy

You don't need a DLNA box thingy. Your Xbox is DNLA certified already. If your xbox is connected to a wireless router then it should pretty much work with the media connect on the phone.

If Twonky works then your hardware seems all ok anyhow.

Thanks guys, yes it all works perfectly but i cant view .3gp files because (if I understand it correctly) they're not compatible with xbox.
I didn't realise xbox was dnla enabled though, i'll give it a try without twonkey.

Cheers,
Chris
