Streaming media blocked even in Wi-Fi mode?

I tried google music on my phone and noticed it wouldn't work, then I found out about pcs limits on media streaming. I use the 40$ plan which doesn't offer it at all, but the thing is I do all my internet stuff over wifi. How can pcs disable streaming altogether for wifi and their 4g network. It should only be disabled if I'm in 4g mode, it's none of their damn business what I do on the phone with my own connection.

Will rooting fix this issue? Or is it possible to tweak this without rooting? I don't know where to start, but I know this is unacceptable.

Theres nothing you can do to change the limit with the phone except change your plan. But no it is not "disabled" or governed when your on wifi. Only you internet provider could govern your wifi. Something might be up on Google's end.

I know it can't interfere with my actual connection, I'm saying I think there is some setting on my phone that's telling the phone itself to not play streaming media. That should be able to be changed or removed. There's been articles about pcs blocking certain media services.

Nice if it is just a Google bug, has anyone else got Google Music to work with their Esteem phone?

Its just a link to metros plans, but all the smartphones require at least a $50 plan, while only feature phones can get the $40 that is why I am puzzled to how the op is on the forty.

Any phone that supports 4g can get the 4g LTE plan for 40$.

......but I figured out what was wrong! There was no space left on my internal so there was no room to cache the music! DOH!+:o
