Streaming media question

[hood420]

I am looking for the best way to stream music and videos from my house to my Nexus 7 and Nexus 4, hopefully without using a PC. After some research I'm finding this isn't so simple. I was looking at network and nas drives and neither seems like it would work for what I want. Is my best option just buying a cheap used PC and using it as sort of server?

yeah i was looking into those and i could not find anything that you are looking for. but if you want to stream your music try google play music. it works great on all of my android device. you can even download any of your music to your specific device is you want to. i no longer have to have music taking up room on my sd card.

I have Google Music and I'm not really happy with it. It's too clunky and I don't like the way it organizes the music, it also doesn't solve my video/general storage problem. It is nice to know that someone else was having problems finding a solution to this also.
