Help Streaming

Is there a way to stream movies and music on wifi from my PC to my phone while in my house?
If it is possible, how would I do this?
Thanks

Music can be done with Gmote. Movies, not sure about.

I forgot about Orb. Haven't used it in years.

By far best streamer for music is subsonic. Very clean UI and can stream via 3G and wifi flawlessly. Also, gives you the ability to download your music to your phone.

I've used VLC Stream & Convert around my house, and it works pretty well.
