Hi guys i dont know if this has already been talked about or what but i know when i first got the phone i got showed the street view google map but in america but now its starting to show the uk on the internet.

Any idea if this is coming onto the G1 in the UK?

I am not clear what you are trying to ask ... But,

I am in the US .. I can pull up a map of London and use Street View as long as the street has been marked with "Street View boundries" ...

What I can not answer is if a UK G1 can use Street View yet ???
 
The Streetview project obviously starts with GoogeMaps for web. So check the map in the location of the location (you follow that?) on a PC first. As Jim noted if you see it there, the chances are good the data exists. A port to android's google maps might be following along soon.

We have a good amount of UK visitors to this forum I am sure someone with a G1 can weigh in.
 
I have been using street view on a Stock RC-9 (non rooted) since I first got my G1, back then I was only able to see US streets but I can now peer into my home territory, it was fun in the office that day with everyone crowding round my desk asking to pan around the street where they live. People were getting dizzy moving round and round in circles, laughing like school children filled to the brim with coke and sweets. The laughter soon died down when the boss walked in.

I won a recent contest using SteetView ... to find an image in NY Times Square area ...

The prize was a Bose
 
Jim - I have been writing to the owner of that site...that contest was awesome! I found out about the site on your profile. Kudos to the win!

I enjoyed the way they used thing the phone and I was able to find the NYC spot too! Albeit after the contest was over. I also tried out PicSay due to them and love it!

So thanks for the pointer and awesome job on the win.

No problem, the contest was cool and I think I could have found the pic without the hint ... but it definately made it easier. I have not used the PicSay ... again stuck with no spare memory .... :( but will it there is ever a clearing by google on the memory front ...

BTW: Did you enter the PicSay contest ? ... it closed on 23-Mar ...

NYC - I actually let the owner know that I found 3 displayed times of that sign. Meaning 3 different times. Based on the screen capture there was likely one answer though.

Picsay - worth deleting some other apps. No doubt.

Contest - I didn't find the site until after the contest was over, that said I provided some feedback about how to run a contest, and why they didn't do their own contest justice. And I sent them a photo for the fun of it.

I dont know what I would delete... to play with PicSay ... but it definately looks like you could have lots of fun ...

It is awesome. I have a lot of creative ideas for what I can do with it. I like apps that remind of a digital lego, easy to use 1000s of uses. (obviously I don't want all apps like this.)

Well I meant for what the software allows, not helping them make an even better version. They do have picsay pro apparently. So maybe that is in the pro version.
