Help Struggling to Unlock S4 with KitKat v4.3

Just got a S4 that's locked to 3 which is also running Android 4.3

I have tried this: [GUIDE] Galaxy S4 Sim-Unlocking - xda-developers, no joy as I fail at point 4 and do not get into the menu

I then tried this: how to access UMTS if you cant access UMTS menu on Galaxy s4 - xda-developers but this also did not work

Someone suggested the main problem is the phone is running 4.3

The model is gt-i9505
baseband ver - i9505xxuemk9

Any thoughts or help

Not tried this personally, but this may be worth a punt

Says it works on some S4's (not sure if it KK compliant) but, just so that you know, 4.3 is JB. KK is 4.4+

I doubt very much that that is the problem as Android 4.3 is Jelly Bean!

You do not mention which model of S4 you have or which carrier you are with, unfortunately. See, 23 Galaxy S4 models - know yours?

Most International models in Europe can be unlocked by the carrier for a small sum or for free.

Oh, right... Three UK. This is from their web site...

Unlocking a Three device to use with another network.
