I was following the steps as instructed to root my Nook Color 1.4.2 and all was going smoothly, but after I re-insert the SD card and power off and back on, it doesn't bring me to the recovery screen. It just takes me back to the home screen. It shows the SD card is there, but when I view the content each file has a big red question mark on it. If I touch the ? it says "This NOOK cannot read this file. It may be an unsupported format." Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Check to see if you can see a tiny microphone hole on the top of your Nook, opposite side from the earphone jack. The Nook Tablet has a mic, the Nook Color (this forum and guide) does not.
