Help Stuck at ATT logo during boot after Teamhacksung update....Help?

Hi folks. I tried to do a ROM update last night to my Teamhacksung ICS enabled captivate and soemthing went wrong I think. I've been using Clockworkmod to do things like this and it has worked great. Now I'm stuck at the ATT logo and can't do anything regardless of what buttons I hold down. How can I fix this? Thanks.

I think when flashing some ICS roms you have to flash twice. So I would first try to go back into recovery using the 3 button combo and reflashing the ROM and letting it boot. If this doesnt work, I suggest an Odin back to GB and trying again or trying another build (Cappy now has many ICS ports). You should be OK to go back as I once was stuck on the ATT screen and thought I bricked my phone but it can be fixed w a one click odin. Hope this helps.

Sounds about right. Is there something you can point me to like a walkthrough that will tell me how to reflash again? I don't knwo where I figured out how to do it in the first place. Let me know if you can and thanks for posting.

Sure no problem. This is what I would do ( I am assuming you had GB before as you will need its bootloaders):

First, try to reflash team hacksungs rom one more time as i've seen in their instructions that it might take 2 flashes. So take battery out, sim and external card. Put battery in, go into recovery by pressing up and down buttons plus the power button, when you see the att logo, you can release the power button. Hopefully you can get into CWM and wipe cache, data and reflash the ROM (I assume you did this one time already). Let it reboot to see if this works.

If the above method doesnt work, my suggestion is to go to ODIN back to GB.

Go to : [Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPDATED - xda-developers

I would recommend to download I897UCKI2 as it has CWM already baked in. Download it and unzip in you computer. Open the program as administrator (make sure you have cappy drivers installed). Take battery out, sim and ext card. You need to go into download mode, so press volume buttons (up and down at the same time), but dont press power button. With them pressed, connect your phone to the USB to computer. Now ODIN should recognize it has been connected ( I think a green COM box appears). After that you should just start it and let it reboot and BAM! you should have GB KI2 w CWM.

Now after this, I would suggest either trying again Team HAcksung, or other roms , but make sure you read the installation. I am planning on going to either Turks v5 or Slim ICS. Let me know it this helps.

First, thank you so much for doing this. I'd hate to brick this phone completely. Great device.

First thing with the power button did not work. I will be trying the other thing within the next hour and post back. Thanks again!

do i want with or without bootloaders?

If you were previously in GB. The download without bootloaders.

As I understand, flashing with bootloaders has a small chance of bricking your device. Once you have them you can flash over and over without worrying about them. So if you had GB before, you dont have to worry about them for a while and just keep flashing. Let me know if it works. Hopefully you will end up with stock GB again

No I was on ICS from Teamhacksung's build with ClockworkMod installed. Thanks again!

OK, so Im guessing you had Gingerbread before. If you ever had gingerbread on your phone without bootloaders will do.
let me know if you get it to work.

Did not have Gingerbread before. Had ICS from Teamhacksung's build.

I ran Odin and got that to work properly. Now I have Att boot loop. Att logo comes up, goes away, comes back, repeat forever....

What now?

Mmm did the odin run all the way until it was successful? If it did it might be a problem with the bootloader. This had happened to me before and odin had fixed it without bootloop. Itry Itrydoing the odin one click with bootloader and make sure ur usb connection is stable. know you came from team hacksung. My question is did the ics rom ever work or boot? What was the rom before ics team hacksung... Can you get into recovery?

I can't get into anything now. Just battery logo loop or ATT logo loop. Yeah I had ICS on it for about a month. Worked amazingly. I was trying to do a restore from a backup and poof, I was hosed. Odin did complete successfully. Not sure. Think I'm buying a Jig I guess?

I dont think its that bad if you can get to the att screen. Like i said i dont think you have a bad brick. Im almost sure either odin or flashing a kernel will fix it. Unfortunately i dont know how else to help. Like i said from my experience odin worked. I think i read something similar happen to someone in xda. Your best bet is to ask there. Sorry i can't be more help. Im sure you can fix it. Good luck and hopefully you can figure it out. Let me know if you find a solution.

NOt sure if anyone is still watching this thread but here goes. Got my jig today. I can get to download mode again which is great but odin just sits at "file analysis". Never goes anywhere. Ideas?

What rom are you trying to flash? Did you pick up one WITH or WITHOUT a bootloader?

This is where I did everything from ([STOCK ROM] Odin3 One-Click Downloader and Drivers CAPTIVATE ONLY - xda-developers). I used whatever was there as far as files go.

Sorry I don't know the difference between with or without bootloader. I'm not a complete newb but far from an expert. Probably why my device is currently hosed.... If you could educate me I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the response.
