Help Stuck at first boot

i've just bought my htc desire. i put the sim card put the battery inside, i press the power button and the screen shows the htc logo and its stuck for an hour. i dont know what to do.i tryed takeing off the battery and then puting it on again but it is happening the same thing again!

Hellllp !!! i cant start the phone

check the sd card & the sim card are inserted correctly & try starting the phone again, if that doesn't work take the sd card out & try starting the phone.

i've tryed everything,without the sd card, without the sim nothing works.it just wont start up.im freaking out:STomorow probably ill be taking it back where i bought it.But if anyone has any ideas place help...

If you have already tried all that then it looks like you have got a duff one, what we used to call a Monday first production unit or a Friday last production unit.
Return it to the shop is your best course of action.
