Root Stuck at HBOOT after firmware update

Used fastboot to install 1.55.605.2 full firmware. Install seemed to go normally but at last command - fastboot reboot-bootloader - screen went blank and never came back.

OK. So I connect to computer then Power + vol up and I get a splash - release power and slide to vol down and I get HBOOT. So far so good.

Try - fastboot oem rebootRUU - and get "waiting for device". Fastboot does NOT show fastbootusb. So try going to recovery and I get a splash but no TWRP screen just a battery with a red triangle and red exclamation mark.

In the past few hours of trying to locate a solution for this problem I found "Red triangle means that no custom recovery is installed."

Well it WAS installed and working just fine. I have TWRP in my fastboot directory but the phone isn't being recognized so I can't reflash it.

If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be ever so grateful

UPDATE - Took my original RUU (0P6BIMG_M8WHL_1.54.651.8_firmware.zip) renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip and put it on my external sd card formatted to fat 32. Booted into HBOOT and got the following -

Model ID incorrect!
Update fail!
Press POWER to reboot

well after hours of repeatedly trying this and that I finally got fastboot usb to appear. I'm still not quite sure how I did it but no matter. I was able to flash twrp again and restore a nandroid.

I use a pc and the easiest way I've found in this situation to get to the bootloader I found because someone else posted how to do it (sorry I forgot who I learned it from). Make sure your system sounds are on. When you plug the phone into the computer you should hear a tone or sound of some sort. Then when you hold power / vol up you'll hear another sound. Keep holding power/vol up till you hear another sound. Then slide your finger to vol down and release the power button. For me that works every time. Not much you can accomplish without the bootloader so that's important.

Just a note to anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation. DON'T GIVE UP. It's understandable that you might be a little freaked out and impatient but just - don't give up. Keep searching the net for little scraps of things to try and eventually you'll get it back to normal.

Sounds like you flashed the Stock OTA Firmware package with the stock boot.IMG and the Stock Recovery. I bet the stock stuff saw non-stock system files and panicked. I'm not the most well versed when it comes to the bootloader security, and the way the device checks for certain things. Scotty and EM are a lot more knowledgeable in this arena.

When downloading any firmware package check to see if it's the full enchilada from the OTA or the modified package that has the Hboot, Stock Recovery, etc bits removed. That's if it's available. Did this process by chance re-lock your bootloader? Just curious.

looks like he also installed a wwe set of firmware initially on a sprint device

have you been able to get everything recovered and working?

Ok so i was trying to revert my HTC one m8 back from the google play edition back to the regular version and in the process i flashed 1.54.401.5-W_Splash to my phone and when i typed the command fastboot reboot-bootloader my phone rebooted and then when it came back on I got a picture of a phone with a red triangle with a exclaimation mark in it and i can't get it off my phone is just in a continuous loop of turning on and off and when i tried to wipe the cache and reboot it, it still didn't work and now im just stuck please help me recover my phone

I had the same problem after flashing the firmware. The screen got white and I couldn't even turn it off. When I connected my phone to a PC, it was just like a connecting a piece of metal, because it couldn't be recognized as an Android Smartphone. I downloaded the Stock RUU to recover my phone, but it was useless. But I discovery that in the middle of the Stock RUU execution, my phone was recognized by my PC and them was able to install the Stock Android 5.0.1 Rom through Fastboot and it worked! Now my phone is fine, and everything is working on my HTC with Lollipop.

Hello Friends.

my HTC ONE M8 (M8_UL) originally had the OS KitKat 4.4.4. I update the GPE cm-12.1-20150901-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO23A-m8. The phone worked well a couple of months, then suddenly stopped working.

Then try to repair installing the firmware sense of KitKat, but after this attempt the recovery stopped working. Currently you install a firmware GPE again, but the phone is still not working. The custon recovery not working.

If I restart the phone, the HTC logo appears and the phone is turned off.

If the logo appears on HTC bootloader recovery selected and the phone is turned off.

These are the solutions I've tried:

1) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (recovery.img = OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.7.0.1-m8.img, OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.7.1.0-m8.img, OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.8.5.0-m8.img).

2) fastboot flash boot boot.img (boot.img = boot.img Extracted to ATT444firmware.zip, or UCP-HTC_One_ (M8) _GPe_Marshmallow-6.0_MRA58K.H6_5.07.1700.6_0p6bdiag.zip)

3) relocked fastboot and install RUU_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_ATT_MR_Cingula...5_signed_2.exe

Nothing has worked. I still recovery. I try turns off so soon.

This video show the problem!!! search in youtube "M8 AT&T, bootloop, recovery doesn't work. HBOOT work fine"

This is my actual configuration:
