Help Stuck in boot loop

Hi guys,

I bought my first android phone to do a bit of tinkering with today, the i5500.

It came with Eclair so I upgraded to Froyo through Kies and then stupidly thought I'd take it a bit further.

I installed Clockworkmod through Odin and now my phone won't boot, it gets stuck in a boot cycle at the samsung logo.

If i hold down vol down + home + power on, I get to the yellow droid logo which says downloading...

Don't know what I've done or what I need to do :S

Any help would be hugely appreciated, kinda sucks to bust a phone on day one!

I am in exactly the same situation, I think I have damaged my efs partition by using the dd command in the shell to get the unlocking code. I did not dd the info back to the phone and now its bust.

dd if=/dev/block/stl5 of=/sdcard/efs.rfs

Anyone know how to use odin to put the efs partition back or a fix for this boot loop thing. There seams to be load of people in the same situation.

I can get phone into downloading mode but no boot.

Anyone know how to do the recovery thing on a phone, or is recovery and download mode the same thing ?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance
