Root Stuck in Bootloop

embmicro

Lurker
I was sitting on the couch watching TV when I felt my phone vibrate. I pulled it out of my pocket to see that it rebooted. The problem was that now it wouldn't stop rebooting. It never gets passed the htc EVO 4G screen.

I can get into the bootloader, but not into recovery.

The info on the bootloader reads
SUPERSONIC EVT2-2 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.79.0000
RADIO-2.15.00.07.21

I was pretty sure I had the nand flash unlocked but not it's locked again

I had Cyanogen 6.1.1 on it when this happened.

It's really strange because I wasn't flashing it or anything, just was sitting in my pocket.

I have tried numerous PC36IMG.zip files and the first one started but then rebooted shortly after. After that they all give me the "Main Version is older" error.

I would really appreciate any help on this because I am ready to smash this thing. I've spent hours trying to figure it out but all the stuff I've found requires you to get into recovery or boot.

Any ideas?

Justin

Weird. Did youtry the pc36img foind in the rooting for dummies thread ? I would use that, unroot and them re root. Thats very strange

Have you tried plugging/Syncing it to your PC and doing it the old fashion way to get into Recovery? That happened to me when i first got my EVO, I couldnt get into recovery, so I did it manually and it worked.

I did and it did nothing. It flashed successfully but it still loops.

Sprint ordered me a phone and I will have a new one one the 27th.

Thanks everyone for your help!
