Root Stuck in Bootloop

It seems I really do have a problem with my phone. It's stuck in a bootloop every time I try to turn on phone. I can use ADB to reboot into recovery and that all seems to be working fine. I wiped data and cache and even tried installing a different ROM...no joy.

Any ideas what I might do to solve it? When I downgraded to accomplish root I did flash the radio and it shows the correct version number in hboot. I'm beginning to think it might be the device.

what roms are you flashing? im a lil out of touch with inc 2,but its my understanding the new radio is needed for newer sense roms. if youre flashing older sense roms, youre possibly creating the same sort of issue with the new radio. youll need the old radio,or flash newer roms.

if you are flashing new roms, then prolly your best bet is to run the newest full, signed by htc ruu you can find, and see if the prollem persists.

Shipped ROMs

FileFactory Folder View - Vivo (inc s ruus mixed in. inc 2 is vivo_w)

I flashed a Miui ICS ROM, then ArcticICSed, then the latest GKB...all had significant problems. I got stuck in a bootloop in GKB after running it a day, then I tried the old Miui ROM I was running before I sent in my phone for repair.

Thank you for the links! I'm going to try the latest non-ICS ROM and see what happens.

Ok, this is kind of funny. I had everything up and running ok when I decided to restore my phone and message data via Titanium...pretty safe right? Well right after doing that, my phone got stuck on the boot screen on reboot.

Thinking about things, I realized the last bootloop was also right after the phone/message data restore. Then it dawns on me that I don't have a SIM card in the new phone. I had taken it out of the old phone and put it somewhere, and now of course I can't find it. Is it possible that restoring phone data to a phone that had a SIM card but now no longer has a SIM card might cause a problem?

no,the sim card is not important.ive not had one in my inc 2 since i got it. the prollem is restoring system data, settings, mms,or anything other than apps and app data(in some cases even app data can cause issues).

restore a good working backup and use titanium to only restore apps and you should be fine :)

Like scotty85 said, only use TiBu to restore apps, DO NOT restore system data as this is likely the cause of the bootloops. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can restore certain portions of system data, such as wifi connections, SMS/MMS Messages ONLY, and User Dictionary, but trying to restore anything else almost always causes issues.

Thanks guys! I'm running CM7 now with 0 issues and it's looking and running great. I should have known better than to mess with system data and Tibu but I really wanted my old phone logs. C'est la vie. :)

Now, the question is...how long will I be able to wait before trying an ICS ROM again?
