Hi vikki, and welcome to AF :)

Does it respond when you press the volume keys (to move through the options)?

If not then it may be that the "repair" has left you with a broken volume key - volume down stuck on would mean you would always boot into hboot. Nothing to do but contact the cowboys who "repaired" it in that case.

If the buttons do work there's a chance that it's software. (I assume that switching to the fastboot screen and selecting "reboot" doesn't help!). Switching to fastboot mode then reflashing with a suitable RUU should fix a software problem - it erases your data too, but I assume you backed-up what you could before sending off for repair. If you can tell us what your software version/network branding were then someone should be able to suggest a suitable one (I don't actually know the DHD, so am not the best person to advise).

My instinct is to send it back anyway, if it's been returned in a non-functional condition.
