Root Stuck in paranoidandroid

I bought a nexus 4 board from ebay and installed it in my nexus 4. I assume its rooted, because the Google X never shows up-instead it reads paranoidandroid 3+ and in about phone it says paranoidandroid 3.65, android 4.2.2.

I've tried using wug fresh's root toolkit to restor to stock os, but no luck. (I was able to use the toolkit to unrooting and restore to stock my nexus 7, so I am not a totally noob.. )

Can anyone please tell me why I can't unroot paranoidandroid 3.65 on my nexus 4 android 4.2.2? If you could help me restore this to stock, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I really don't understand why people bother with toolkits for Nexus devices; it really does not get any easier than fastboot flash - and, as an added bonus, it's much easier to troubleshoot if something does happen to go wrong.
