Stuck in reboot cycle...?

Hey guys,

I apologize if this has already been asked/explained or anything of that nature, and I hate to be "that guy" who does that kind of stuff, but I'm in a bit of a predicament.

I decided to root my Galaxy S2, and all was well, till I got overconfident and made a rookie error, installing a ROM in what must have been the wrong way.

The phone started booting up, and then it got stuck on the boot up screen of the custom ROM, and wouldn't go any further.

I found a stock kernel, and installed that, but now my phone keeps turning on, getting to the shining 'S' logo, then showing the shut down screen.

I cannot figure out what I need to do, and I know I just must be looking over some simple thing, which I am hoping someone can probably answer in one sentence - hopefully...

Firstly, what ROM did you flash?
was it a rom specific to your GS2 version?

As long as you can get into upload mode you have nothing to worry about.
Probably the quickest way out would be to try to flash another (compatible) custom ROM

if this still fails, then you will need to download official firmware from SamMobile, flash it through Odin, re-root and flash the rom again

I flashed something along the lines of Pac man ROM. It was a ROM specific to the GS2, and as such, I can't comprehend what I have done wrong.

The odd thing is, I tried flashing another compatible ROM, to no avail.

The most confusing thing is, the official firmware is what got stuck... It makes no sense.

However, I managed to fix it. I was able to get into recovery mode, eventually.

Thankyou for such a quick reply, though. I can see why you have so many thanks.
