Help Stuck in reboot loop!!!

I was thinking of getting the rezound to use it for EBAY...Are you saying the app doesn't work?...and if it does, can you get the completed sales on it?

official app worked beautifully until i rebooted my phone. then it looped. another member here says he has this app and doesnt have any issue with it so far. this leads me to believe its a combination of apps causing a bug within the phone, but its just speculation. no hard proof

Does the app have the capability to check completed sales?..thanks

UPDATE!

Went to the Verizon store today and got a cool rep. I explained what had happened and he got online and found in their "inner" forums that it has been an issue for a few (not widespread at all) and that there was a fix. He did something to my phone (had the cover off, sim card out, etc) and says he hopes it's fine, that no one has reported an issue after this "fix" but gave me his card just in case so I can get a "new" phone out of a box, not an exchange, should the problem come back.

So, my advice, take it to a verizon store (not just a retailer) if you had the issue.

I have been running stock sense after my first set of reboots. I no longer use launcher pro or handcent sms. It's running better stock then with a different launcher. So far so good I just hope it stays this way.

It started when I tried to launch handcent so not sure what caused it but I am liking stock better anyway .

Hello guys, i had the issue before and got it fixed. Then i replicated the problem and it is just how someone here said. If you only have CDMA and fast boot unchecked, the rebooting arises. Now is this issue only isolated because i had a nice rep send me a new phone so in 5 days, ill see if this happened again.

I had LTE/CDMA checked and I was in a strong LTE area when mine went into reboot loop

That's weird. So then, why are we having the same issue but different causes. Like i said, i was able to replicate the rebooting issue on my phone by using only CDMA. Strangely enough, the first time that happened, before the rebooting issued occurred, i was at home had 4g (2-3 bars), went out for the day and came back home and didn't have 4g (3g 2-3 bars). This was before i knew who to turn 4g on and off.

Toyota, if it's happened more than once, stop by a Verizon store. I did and they "fixed" mine. Hopefully. Otherwise they can note it on your account so if you do have to exchange it you can get an out-of-the-box and not refurbished phone.

PS: Mine also went into reboot loop completely different than the PP.

reboot loop #4, so pissed. called verizon, theyre policy is even worse. apparently only the FIRST phone replacement is new, after that, its all refurb. SOOOOOOOOO.............. if u got bad luck and get a loopy one again, then ur stuck getting refurbs for a problem you didnt even cause. starting to hate verizon...

That's wierd. The complete oppsite has happened to me. When i had this problem, verizon sent me a refurb on my first and only replacement but the new phone seems to not have this problem.

Honestly Verizon has always gone the extra mile to keep me happy.

Did you take it to a store? They can apply the "fix." My phone hasn't done it since.

Any consistent reason to why it's happening?

If i were you, I'd call again and ask for supervisors till you got it fixed or go to an actual store (not just a dealer).

guess ill stop by the verizon store tomorrow then see hope this supposed fix can fix it.... a part of me wants to switch to the samsung nexus but who knows when thats coming out lol

no consistent reason... one of the previous times was after i installed the official ebay app, so this time after the hard reset, i installed ebay first and it didnt do it. i was at work the other day when my 3g kept cutting in and out, it wouldnt keep the 3g service so i rebooted, then it started its loop. it seems so...random each time why its doing it. different reasons each time

Sigh, just happened to me. But in the phone's defense, it was rebooting while still connected to my computer and like a bonehead, I disconnected in mid boot up. Hopefully when I get my new 32 GB card I won't have that happen again.

Does anyone know what "fix" Verizon reps are doing behind the scenes? It would be nice if they'd share this info with everyone. My fix consisted of removing the SIM, the SD card, doing a boot up twice, and then booting up with all equipment inside. It worked after a few tries.

No - but he did something . . . was looking on their "inside" forums. I couldn't quite tell what he removed or didn't remove (behind the counter).

I had the same reboot loop problem today. Took it to the Verizon store and the rep had "no idea." She wanted to send me a new phone, which would take a couple of days, rather than give me a replacement from their supply because I had the phone more than 14 days (barely.) I suggested a hard reboot, and now it is working. Of course, I have hours of re-installing my apps ahead of me, but I can't be without my phone.

Has anyone ever heard of this? replacing my phone by mail rather than just giving me another phone! If I could go for a couple fo days without my phone, I probably wouldn't need it at all!

Would be funny if their "inside forums" was Android forums. haha

Yeah Verizon is probably building up quite a stock of "refurbs" from OCD people that see the slightest defect and decide to return the phone. They probably got the green light to start doing refurbs after they get enough as returns. It almost makes you want to return the phone under their holiday return policy and just wait a few days and get a brand new one later.

As I heard an app which starts automatically after booting the phone could cause this reboot loop.

My HTC Sensation has a "Save mode" while booting. In this mode no one of my downloaded apps can start automatically. So I could see if phone's hardware/software causes this problem or it's on of my apps.
And when I have a suspicion I could uninstall a few apps.

I don't know if the Rezound has this "Save mode" but I think it may have it because my HTC Desire HD has it too.

How to do:
While booting when the HTC logo appears then press "Vol -" button until the phone finished booting.
At the bottom of the screen will appear "Save mode".

went by the verizon corporate store this morning, i told the manager exactly what was going on. random infinite boot loops, according to this forum they have a fix to it on their internal forums, could you guys please update my phone with it so i can stop having to hard reset? having to redo my settings and install my apps 4 times in a month is kinda annoying.

so he goes to the backroom and comes back out 5 minutes later. his response: i have no idea what your talking about, loops glitch? never heard of it. are you sure your talking about the the htc REZOUND? you sure its not another one of our phones? theres nothing i can do for you. (then proceeds to stare at me with a blank face)

umm sorry to rage on here...but dont you think i would know what phone i have? gee let me double check what phone i bought, maybe an iphone? could it be a flip phone? i cant tell what this big phone is with htc and the beats emblem imprinted on it. i must be blind

Unless you are rooted and messed with OS files, an app should not be causing reboot loops at start up. This defeats the security and design of the Dalvik byte code layer, but you never know.

Seems a firmware issue, or that and hardware, since the cover removal helps for some.

Razr reboots when using 4G and HDMI at same time, so not innocent either.

This looks like a, "Dear Penthouse, I never thought this would happen to me..." story... :p

As far as the reboots, try removing the sim card AND the sd card and power up the device. Then shut down and put in just the SD card, let it get the SD card situated, and then power off and put in the sim card.

One question I have for everyone with reboot issues, are you using the SD card that comes with the Rezound or another SD card from an older phone? I'm wondering if the Rezound is getting tripped up from a different SD card with a different file structure inside it.

I have had my Rezound since 11-14. Everything was great until 11-17, since then the phone has got stuck in a boot loop 4 times. Every time I had to do a battery pull and factory reset, which is annoying since I had everything set up. The last 2 times I didnt load anything on the phone except my contacts, and the SD card has been out since reboot #2.

Coming from the DINC I am pretty dissapointed. Going to hopefully get a replacement tomorrow. I really like the phone, but if it has too many bugs I am going to wait for the Nexus.

Anyone else having the reboot problem??

Kuuuuuh! Darth Razr says, "Come to the Daarrk Siiide" ;) Razr is episodes 4 through 6 and the Nexus is 1 though 3 :)
