Stuck on bootscreen?

Oh dear.

So, I recently 'upgraded' to CM7, but today I decided I'd prefer to restore a backup. Unfortunately, I discovered that it was an earlier backup of the same rom, and took the battery out of the phone after the restoration process had started. (It got to 'checking M5 sum' or something, and stayed there for a few minutes before I pulled the battery out.)

Now, whenever I turn the phone on, it just freezes at the boot screen. Oops. However, I can still boot into the average (?) recovery mode (the one with the skateboarding androids) although I'm not sure how to use it.

Can anyone help me get my phone working again? And what exactly has happened? I don't mind doing a factory reset if necessary. I'm a right noob, so any kind of help would be massively appreciated. Thanks so much! :)

EDIT: No worries, I managed to fix it as Clockwork Mod Recovery was still kicking around and so I could reinstall the rom. Thanks for your consideration though!
