Help Stuck on bootscreen!

Hi all

I am having a problem, and first of all I need to say I am not extremely technically minded, I don't know what flashing/rooting is and I've been through so many forums looking for help and that's all I can find!

My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 is stuck on the 'Samsung' logo bootscreen. As soon as the battery goes in it it starts flashing this up, without me pressing anything. And that is all it will do, off and on and off and on.

I have tried pressing home+volume+lock which takes it to the Custom OS screen, which it stays on for about 4 seconds before flashing up Samsung logo again. It doesn't respond to me pressing the volume key up or down.

It was fine until last night when it mysteriously started doing this.

Kind of miffed as I have only had it a few weeks.

Any help appreciated, even if it is just to break the news to me that it's deceased and I can't get it to work. Just want to know if there is anything else I can try.

Thank you :)

I have tried putting it on charge.... all I get is a battery charge screen showing an empty battery with a little buffer symbol in the middle. This flashes on and off in the same vein as the samsung logo :(

To start, we need more info.

1. Has the phone been rooted or modified in any way?
2. Are you running a custom rom?
3. Were you flashing something when this happened?
4. Or is the phone 100% stock?
5. And lastly did you try charging it while off with the OEM charger and cable until the LED light turns green?

If you answered yes to questions 1, 2 or 3, you may be soft bricked, check out my un-brick link here: http://androidforums.com/t-galaxy-n...tom-recovery-unbrick-unroot-return-stock.html

If the answers to 1-3 are no, and 4-5 are yes, you need to get the phone replaced under warranty.

Hi James

It's completely stock, haven't done anything to it. And when I try to charge it, as I said, I only get a blank battery picture and a red light flashing on the top right corner of the phone intermittently.

I'm looking at returning it today. :(

That is odd and the only time I have seen this is when trying to mod something; try a factory reset, and if that does not work, just get it replaced.

To try a factory reset, plug the phone into the charger for at least an hour, ignore the screen. After that unplug the phone and do the following:

1. Press and hold: Volume up + center "home" button + power
2. Once you see the Galaxy note 2 logo, let go of power, but KEEP holding Volume up + center "home" button until you boot into the Android system recovery (3e) menu
3. Select "wipe data/factory reset" (press power button to select item and volume to move up and down)
4. Select "wipe cache partition"
5. Once all that is done, select reboot system now

If your phone will not enter recovery, than something went wrong and your only option is to have Samsung repalce it :(

i tried everything possible. remove battery, micro sd etc. only thing it let me do is to go in download mode (power+home+volume down). finally i flashed it with odin 3.07 (1.87 doesn't work). I downloaded the previous update of official samsung firmware. flashed it in odin 3.07. once the process finished (green box says "PASS") removed the mobile even though it got stuck on downloading mode. remove the battery & micro sd card & put it back in couple of minutes. thats it folks............ it will now update your phone to the old official firmware. once its done. switch of the mobile & press (power+home+volume up) together. when samsung note 2 logo appears leave the power button & keep holding the other 2. it will take you to the recovery screen. use volume button to select wipe date/ factory reset. press power button to "ok". once done reboot system.

Me Warranty Not Use at All,

When i go to samsung itself....you know what they said? my note 2 file is broken and cannot be repair...same problem...stuck at boot logo....so...what the hell they know??
