Root Stuck on HTC logo boot screen

phrosyn

Lurker
After unlocking, installing recovery menu and flashing a rom i have never been able to boot my htc desire hd into the os.
I have tried multiple sd cards, multiple recovery menus, multiple roms, multiple pcs, and i have always triple wiped. I also looked at unrooting with PB99IMG.zip but the phone just seems to ignore it.

I know there are similar threads around but none seem to really solve my problem. I would love to hear some ideas on what i can do to get this thing booting! What do you think?

How did you unlock your phone, what recovery have you installed and what ROM did you flash?

Can you still get into Hboot (pull battery, replace battery, volume down than press power with volume down)?

Please write what you see in HBoot.

Did you make a backup before you flashed the ROM.

Solved! Team win recovery is not as reliable as clockwork. Also i hadn't flashed the boot.img

Glad you're all sorted :)

The phone would ignore this, as it should be PD98IMG (you wouldn't usually need to put the .zip and could find that the computer has also added it too, meaning that you would have PD98IMG.zip.zip which also wouldn't work) :)

glad you are sorted! however,in all fairness, most(all) of your prollem was from not flashing the boot image. twrp is a nice recovery,as is ext 4,wich alot of us here use: http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/631481-4ext-recovery-how.html

might give it a shot :)

also, htcdev sucks for rom flashing. its a relaible means of adding root access,if thats all you need,or for getting other exploits to runs, and its better than nothing if s-off does not exist. but you can easily downgrade and s-off your DHD so that a seperate boot image flash is not needed.

a lil more info on s on rom flashing here: http://androidforums.com/rezound-all-things-root/587430-s-want-flash-roms-read.html
