stuck on HTC splash screen

[325i]

My friend has a desire which is completely standard, it has never been rooted or modified.

At the moment when he switches the phone on, it is stuck on the HTC splash screen, he can access boot mode if he holds volume down with power.

Any idea on how to fix this problem?

Thanks

try clearing storage from that boot mode screen.

Is it possible to flash the WWE ruu whilst the phone has a goldcard in it?

Yes

try clearing storage from that boot mode screen.

Doesnt that just wipe the SD card?
