Stuck on splash screen

I just bout the MyTouch 3G Slide 2 weeks ago, I dont know how to flash or root a phone (yet), never had a smartphone really lol. And now somehow I had to shut off my phone because of issue and when I booted it back up it got stuck on the first Mytouch splash screen. What did I do? I tried to find out on the xda developers site and frankly, its not very helpful since most of what they tell you to do I dont know about lol. I am a tech savvy person but seems like I am way behind on Cell phones, im more of the PC guy. Any advice?

as long as you have no water damage you should be able to swap it out just call 611 or iif its been less than 14 days since you bought it and you got it through TMO take it back.

its funny that u say to call 611............when i cant get it to boot! funny.
