After trying about 5 times to encrypt a note 3 on brand new 4.4.2 and lastly 4.4.4 (note 4 evolution rom over stock) , after it encrypts (albeit fast or full) it reboots and gets to the samsung logo (in note 4 has animated blue circles splashing behind the word samsung) shows animated, and the led is blue and pulses somewhat, but it never leaves this screen. if i press buttons it vibrates.
*Update* I fixed it by completely removing SU inside of supersu and then permanently unrooting inside the app also which removes everything. Then I was able to encrypt . Note the pkill -KILL daemonsu solution did not work for me.
