stuck trying to get into recovery reboot

My rooted Evo keeps hanging up after I try to reboot into recovery. When I rooted my Evo I had used a bat file from my desktop to get into recovery after original root. My question is will I have to run this file again from my desktop with my Evo connected to get into recovery mode again to flash fresh Rom. Will there be any issues with running this recovery file again. Or Am I missing a step to get into recovery. Power off hold volume down while power on volume scroll down to recovery press power button any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hey you're on the right track. The recovery that you ran is a temporary recovery image that you have to run EVERYTIME you want to go to recovery. So connect your Evo to the computer, boot into the stock recovery (where you can't do anything), and run the evo-recovery script from your computer.
