If you lock the phone by pressing end, the screen goes blank instantly. If you press the end button to bring up the lock screen (do not unlock), and then QUICKLY double click the end button, the screen fades in and out. Phone is still locked, so no real use. Discovered this in a meeting today. I forget what the meeting was about...
