Help Stupid ICS update question

I should probably know this by now!

When I upgrade to ICS via KIES will my apps still be there, or will I need to re-install them for the market?

When I upgraded last week, all my apps were still there IN THE "APPLICATIONS" SCREEN.

They were gone from my home screens, so I had to rearrange their display there. The upgrade basically put the homescreens back to a factory-type setting, but all the installed apps were safe!

How about everything else? Contacts, pics, music etc all still there?
