I'm constantl9 getting newsreader notifications which are annoying me. How can I turn these off

The "settings" in whatever newsreader app(s) you have installed? AFAIK that is the only things that could cause it.

i dont use any newsreader as far as i know?

Try looking in your list of apps in case you have accidently downloaded one
