I was trying to flash a new rom and cleared the cache and wiped the device before doing it. Now it is stuck in a loop where it boots to the point where the rom logo appears and it reboots from that point.
Which ROM were you trying to load? You may have gotten a bad download. Did you do a Nandroid backup prier to flashing the new ROM? If you did you should be able to restore this backup then try redownloading the new ROM.
