Root Stupid Question _plug into computer??

I've tried ROM Manager but notice no difference after reboot. I'm newly rooted Dink 2.2 .
Am I supposed to be plugging into my computer? I've been doing it without...
I use LauncherPro Plus but tested without.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. What are you trying to do that you used ROM Manager for and didn't see a difference?

I think the phone has to be attached to the computer. Wasn't doing that. Wasn't doing that.

the phone does NOT have to be attached to the computer to use ROM manager. The point of ROM manager is to give you the ability to download new ROMs directly to your phone and flash them. You have to flash a ROM through ROM manager to see a "difference".

That's what I thought. So there just isn't enough difference for me. I'm happy running LauncherPro Plus and don't want any extra stuff slowing the phone down but not making any noticeable change so I guess it's not a new ROM I need, but to know what is safe to remove. And what is desireable for me to remove.

If you want to change the looks of things, only a few ROMS do that by default, but you can look at themes for those ROMS, themes can make almost everything look different

This might seem obvious, but did you install a new ROM through ROM Manager? ROM Manager isn't a new ROM itself, and you won't see anything different after installing it. You have to download and flash one of the available ROMs through the program.
