Help Stupid Question Time - Video help reqd!

OK so someone on my other forum was having problems with where to store videos on the SD card so that Mediascape can 'see' them. Easy I thought, but I spoke too soon. So now I bow to someone else's superior knowledge, where the heck do you store them? Tried Video, Media, getting desperate DCIM file and just plain old root of the SD card.

Thank you guys for putting this gal out of her misery!

Edit I know 3rd party apps can find them... got MixZing and it found it no problem from the video file.

I hope this helps. I use realplayer for videos and use realplayer on laptop to change avi to mp4 profile then just drag and drop to SD card. I tried rockplayer but just didn't seem to like it.

Mine are all in Video, which is a single folder on the SD. If you've just added them open MS and view your music, then go back to video and see if they're there.

I use astro and I find them in the Videos folder then just open with realplayer. it took me a while to get this worked out too

Nope still not finding it. It's a .mov file that I have moved cos I didn't have any other video clips that I could find on my netbook to try and figure out the solution.

Downloaded Realplayer as suggested but says I need a codec for the clips I have on netbook from iPhone and Samsung digital cam.

Just tried it with an AVI file copying and pasting via Realplayer to phone but MS and Mixzing say it can't play it.

Losing will to live now! What am I doing wrong?

Ah-ha, progress. I am being a bit of a twit, misread and was trying to change MP4's to AVI not the other way round. So now I am sorted... oh dear lord what a ninny.

Thank you for your help, its obviously being a bit temperamental on what file types it sees. As I said MixZing was finding all the files, which is what I use for the odd media thing I do anyway but I have been told off by a certain Powerkiter back in the day for recommending apps when the stock one can do it.

Cheers fellas!

Hope my info wasn't misleading rose, its just that that's what ive always done even when putting stuff on my itouch and yes mediascape should find them as well

Hey Ric,

No I think it's me that should be apologising for not reading the post properly! I am using realplayer on my netbook and it keeps getting stuck so I will have go with our PC later which has marginally more power than this thing!

I think I know what I am doing now but I will be back to pick your brains again if I get stuck:D
