If cats do things like that there's usually 2 reasons. They could be sick. I've had cats tell me they didn't feel good by peeing in front of me.

The other is sheer spite. I had a male cat (neutered) that had it in for the Vulcan.

Cats are really kind of Selfish and all for themselves, when I was young I had a cat named Bossy and believe me he deserved that name. I actually watched him fight a dog and win.
