Help Stupidfast kernel am I doing something wrong?

DuoWing

Newbie
Looking for some help here. I went ahead and decided to try and give the Stupidfast 1.54 kernel a go. Downloaded the zip, dropped it on my SD card, used Rom manager to boot into Clockworkmod, wiped dalvik cache, chose install from sd card, browsed to the file and installed it, after a few seconds it said everything was good. Booted up the phone, but the Kernel version is still saying 2.6.29. I don't know if there's any specific way to tell if I'm using the Stupidfast kernel correctly? It loaded up fine with the stock DJ05 rom that I had. Wasn't sure so then I tried downloading it through Rom Manager and telling it to wiped data and cache and then it went and installed and booted into some weird portion of my previous rom, just reloaded clockwork and the restored my most recent rom. The phone is still running, I'm just not sure if I'm running the stupidfast kernel or not. Any advice?

about phone will always list the kernel branch...and 2.6.29 is the 2.1 eclair kernel....32 is froyo....35 is gb...so that wont change til an os upgrade

if you have setcpu you can look under info to see kernel build date and creator

and its best to wipe cache not just davlik cache before flashing kernel

When I select wipe data and cache through Rom manager before installing that's doing what you're mentioning, right? If doing it manually through the clockwork menu, is that the wipe partition cache option?

Went into SetCpu like you said and it showed a geeknik label tied to the kernel, so it appears things were installed correctly. I really haven't seen much difference with this kernel, but maybe I'm not doing enough with my phone to see it.

i never use rom manager for anything :D it doesnt have a separate cache wipe...so if you select wipe data/cache your wiping data

i do it manually in cwr under wipe cache partition

i was not a stupidfast user so i cant really comment on performance :)
