Stylus for Ascend?

Okay so I'm probably an OCD nut or something, but this finger oil business is killin me! I deviced a quick solution -- wrap some toilet paper around my finger and keep it there with a rubberband. The downside to this is ... my finger turns a bit purple.

So I went online and paid for a stylus [Amazon.com: GTMax Red Universal Stylus for Cricket Huawei Ascend: Electronics] -- however its not very accurate and requires a bit of pressure, not very practical. I wouldn't recommend this thing.

Anyhow I was just wondering, do any of you use a stylus? Is there a general concensus that they are for noobs? Any good ones for the ascend?

Nope. I just found a couple of little microfilament wiper things for like a buck apiece at 5 and Below, and just keep one at home and one in the car. Cleans the screen 100% clean in just a couple wipes. Doesn't matter to me how smudged the screen gets, I just clean it.

I don't believe that is is the type of touchscreen designed for stylus use.Try GOOGLING for more information on the subject.

and also you can get 5 of those off ebay for like $4, different colors also, had order a set when i had the samsung caliber.

the ascend screen is what is called a "capacitive" screen. it only works on the fleshy part of your finger. a "synaptic" (i believe) screen will work with a stylus.

i have however found that a soft eraser (like the colorful ones from children's pencils) works too.

Thanks for the replies. I already googled but it seems most of the info is general and vague and I know dif phones have dif types of screens sometimes.

I'll try some rain-x and microfiber cloth :)

If touch still seems to be a bit off, whether w/your finger,stylus,etc.........there's an app in the ANDROID MARKET called SCREEN CALIBRATION TOOL or something to that effect,to test the screen responsiveness/touch accuracy. If its off a whole lot,you may be able to convince a CRICKET/METRO DEALER to replace your phone.
