Root SU Binary Update?

I got a message this morning that my su binary is outdated and that I should update. All I can tell is that is seems to be related to rooting (I'm assuming "su" is super user). Is there any risk in updating this. It looks to be going to version 3.something, and I just want to be sure it's not assuming Android 3 and will mess something up.
 
Yes, it's for super user. It happened to me after the recent update. I just tapped on the notification and it updated in a few seconds.
