Help SU Command Question

Lana30

Android Enthusiast
HI Friends,
If you try SU command it shows this message:
u9_a188@android: / $ su
/system/bin/sh: su not found

What does it mean?

It means that you do not have the su binary installed--i.e., you are not rooted.

This is a simple and classic test for checking to see if you are rooted.

If you are, then you would / should see a "#" prompt instead of the "$" prompt.
This was to unlock from a carrier, what can be done from here--?

Not sure what you're saying / asking...?

You mean you were trying to unlock something (bootloader)?
Sorry, didn´t sleep well last night so I´m a little off today, ha ha. I understood what it mean, but my question was what can be done from here. Any suggestions?

Ah, well...the rooting method is very device / Android version dependent (assuming it can be rooted at all)...this particular device is clearly not yet rooted.

What device is it?
What version of Android is it running?
What rooting attempts were made using what method/tools?
What were the messages resulting from that failed rooting attempt?

Etc., etc., etc...
