Root SU updated and does not allow access

I am some what of a noob. I have had my tbolt for almost 2 years now and it has been rooted from day 3. I use the A05PTH3ORY ROM. SU updated itself about 3 days ago and I have not been able to get root access ever since. I tried uninstalling the updates and SU kept force closing. I try to update the binary through SU and i get a "cannot gain root" failure. I have tried running root checker and cannot get anywhere with that application. Every time I try to use any app that requires SU I get a failure ie. speedtweak.sh and memory optimizer. So to fix the problem i manually installed the zip files from androidsu.com. Both
ARM devices (2.0
 
Can you just go into your menu>settings>applications>manage applications and choose superuser then tap on the uninstall updates option?
 
i could before i did the manual install of SU. I tried reverting back to the original before and it did not help,but now i cannot uninstall.
 
just flash a new superuser in recovery,it will update the app and the binary. i personally like superSU.

you want to download it at the link labled CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip (i cant directly link it,as it will break when he updates to a new version and attachment)

download,place on sd card,wipe cache and dalvik cache, then flash in recovery ,just like you would a rom :)
 
I tried flashing a new SU ,the ones suggested, and nothing works. I flashed the ROM again and it started working. I just started over from scratch. Now i have a whole new set of issues. The ROM designer said i should flash MR2 MR2.5 radios. I was only getting a 1x for data. I flashed the new radio in HBOOT and still cannot get the thing to work on anything but 1x. But at least superuser works now. I fixed one only to have another pop up.
 
did you have the back cover off? the cover is the antenna,and you wont get anything but 1x with it off.

failing that,check the roms thread for that issue.
 
All right i guess the 3g coverage is not really that good in my area and i have an extended battery case that drops the phone signal a bit more than my old case. So now i am getting 3G but no 4G service. Yes i had my back plate cover on.
 
Aight wierd things just keeping happening. I backed up the ROM and used some kernal tweaks inside of Memory optimizer and the 4G started working. Thanks guys for all your help.
