today i downloaded the brighthouse app and it will not work on rooted devices, but i read up on a so call way of bypassing root.it stated to disable s u and then the app would work, well i did that and the brighthouse app,did the same, gave me the error message that it does not work on rooted devices, well now my su app is installed but i lost root,i used root checker and no root, when i went into my apps i had 2 su apps, chainsdd and chain fire, why i dont know but i always used chainfires su app,but now that i dont have root,i wanna know how to back up my apps and data since its set up the way i want and am i going to have to reroot and do it allover again.and yes its updated to 4.3 and at the time my build number was the older one (cant recall it) but when i got the nexus back from asus repairs i had the new jjrr6 i think it was and there was no root at the time, but i managed to root it somehow lol but now i have this issue?any help or comments would be appriciated, thanks!!!

i figured it out,i just backed up my apps+data with rom toolbox then just flashed a bkup i had and now restoring apps+dat,i have root now and s u is back and working, close call jus for a app lol

well i thought rom tool box was going todo it,but found out it did bck up my apps, but when i went to restore data and all,NOPE,didnt, owe well just a lil longer on getting things set up as they where, now on my lg esteem the app + data restore did work perfect,i prob jus panicked and didnt do sumthing right, butyea watchout if sumone says to disable s u or hide it to try to get around a app that doesnt work on rooted devices!! i learn sumthing new everyday in this place and on my own mistakes lol

That's the truth, something new get's to be learned.

Your restoring data, fly's in the face of something I'd picked up in some other post, there was the suggestion, (strongly suggested) to NEVER restore data along with APP's. So I, being sharp enough to catch that, and yet dim enough to not know why, just decided to follow the advice and haven't restored data with any restored app.

Are you ever experiencing problems due (directly) to data restoration?

no i have not experienced any probs restoring data with apps, but when i dont restore the data thats where i get my probs, lol all my data not there now, then you sometimes have to start all over but there is a bunch of dont do this and its betr to do that, but everyones devices are diff,if u know wat i mean,so i would have to say its up to the person if they do or dont!!
