Submerged Rezound! Help!

Yesterday I accidentally submerged my Rezound for 1 second in the pool. Immediately pulled the battery and tossed it in a baggie with rice. Hoping that the drying process will work, but am preparing myself if it doesn't! My phone is eligible for an upgrade 2/13. Obviously, the VW people will be able to tell if the phone was wet, so I'm not even going to try to take it in and play dumb. Would it be unheard of for them to do an early upgrade (5 mos) for a long time customer with three phones? Maybe it would be a better plan to scour the internet for a used Rez and just fork out a couple of hundred?? Ideas? Thanks.:(

I doubt big red will do a five month early upgrade for you. It will cost nothing to try however. That's where I'd start if the drying process failed. My next option would be to search ebay for a new or used decent replacement. I wouldn't do anything before I fired up the Rez and assess the damage. You might be one of the lucky ones and have no water damage. I certainly hope that is the way it works out for you.

Thanks for the input. However, after 2 days in a bag of rice the Rezound is back working just fine! No issues so far! What a relief...:)

Actually, VZ will do early upgrades... I have done 3-5 month early upgrades for my last 3 phones. Here's the key though... They WILL NOT do it in a store! You need to go through the process of calling CS, talk to the Rep and explain that you want an early upgrade. "Remind" them that you will be signing a new 2yr contract but if they can't upgrade you then you MAY have to look at other options since your phone isnt working properly. This person will most likely tell you no. Then(very nicely) tell them that you know that it has been done for other customers and would they kindly ask their supervisor of he/she could authorize it. Now 5 months is a long time and maybe I got lucky on that one but hey, it's wortha shot!:D Oh and your bill needs to be paid up to current. But, first check the water damage sticker in battery area... you may get lucky and it didn't get wet. Then you can "play dumb". LoL. Good luck to ya!!
