and voila .. thanks that was excelente donation for sure m8's imma go tinker with it now to see if i can tell a difference...

will getting a new sd card effect nething?? or if metro has to refresh the phone signal for something?

nope my media scanner still works. It seems to only scan on startup or when a change to apps has been made.

update: just managed to get the phone connected and removed the rest of bloatware, so ignore the above info re phone not being detected for now, unless there's more of it. The VBScript does some weird stuff on my XP x86 box,- like opening 34 cmd windows, prompting to open those those dll, etc. files... I could care less about that, just wondering, Mike, which OS are you on? Win7 ? x86? x64?

Thanks to all of you guys for trying and contributing! Every day, we're one step closer to victory!

I'm on windows 7 but that shouldnt matter.

unless your clicking or typing while the program is running.
or if you have some program running that is causing the command window to loose focus.

I have not had the time to try this yet. My daughter had a baby yesterday (!), so won't be able to take the time 'til tonite probably. But I'm watching with much interest.

Silvist, you mentioned better battery life since removal. What's the concensus on this? Anyone else think they are getting better battery life?

it should have a level 1 root after this. Level 1 root allows the adb program to read/write files in the phones system directory that normaly you only have read access to. This allowed us to delete the app files for the apps that metro included on the phones system.

However, Level 3 root is what we all want. Whats called a full root and apps on the phone can then be granted root permission

Ok, it has been at "ADB connection will be reset. Restart ADB server on desktop and re-login." for almost 15 minutes, do i need to actually restart adb server?

I did the removal, it worked great. The problem I'm having is when I connect the USB the screen for the mass storage disappears very fast and it doesn't allow me to select connect mass storage. Do you know a fix for this??

Thanks!!

bull down the notification bar and click it.
Or turn debugging back off.

Debugging is off and when I pull down the notification bar there is nothing there to press regarding the mass storage connection.

the phone charges but no usb icon on the phone top left side? if thats the case.. look at my other thread of pc transfers.. i had a similar problem trying to get any pc to recognize mass storage

I have seen better battery life since removing the bloat, mainly in standby, when I am using it it still pulls the juice but now it lasts when it is sitting on my desk or in a pocket

Seems to have worked just fine. On a side note, it might be a good idea to just list the applications that got removed so that anyone who does it and doesn't know what they got rid of can find them again.
