update: just managed to get the phone connected and removed the rest of bloatware, so ignore the above info re phone not being detected for now, unless there's more of it. The VBScript does some weird stuff on my XP x86 box,- like opening 34 cmd windows, prompting to open those those dll, etc. files... I could care less about that, just wondering, Mike, which OS are you on? Win7 ? x86? x64?
Thanks to all of you guys for trying and contributing! Every day, we're one step closer to victory!
did anyones media scanner quit working too?
never mind..i just didnt notice it running beforemedia scanner is not removed, it is supposed to run when you boot the phone or add/remove an SD card.
ok this is weird, today i ran juice defender, an app to save battery life, when it ran, i was reading the log and it said the phone is rooted.. i did the bloatware removal yesterday..
Ok, it has been at "ADB connection will be reset. Restart ADB server on desktop and re-login." for almost 15 minutes, do i need to actually restart adb server?
Yes after you see that, run the bloatware removal script.is it done rooting when it gets to pause>nul
I did the removal, it worked great. The problem I'm having is when I connect the USB the screen for the mass storage disappears very fast and it doesn't allow me to select connect mass storage. Do you know a fix for this??
Thanks!!
Debugging is off and when I pull down the notification bar there is nothing there to press regarding the mass storage connection.
Seems to have worked just fine. On a side note, it might be a good idea to just list the applications that got removed so that anyone who does it and doesn't know what they got rid of can find them again.
