whats going on?

well after i run soup, i run bloat and every time it asked to remove the bloatware i hit yes, and it says failed something something

after i pull the battery and reboot, it boots up normal... with everything and no root.

So today I was looking through my phone and realized how much I hated those metro apps. I googled if there was a way to delete them which then brought me here. I reserched for a good 2 hours and read all the threads, I then decided I should just go for it and try mike's script to delete the bloatware. I was scared that I'd do it wrong and screw my phone up completely but I took and chance and it worked!! Im really happy to have to see those lame apps again, and for me the process took no more than 5 minutes all together (I expected it to take longer).

THANKS AGAIN! All of you made my day considering im a huge phone geek and wanted those ugly things gone. :p

Dude, you rock! This worked like a charm for me (on the 2nd try). Unwanted bloatware removed and only kept what I wanted. Awesome work bro!

In the first message of this thread, where it says, "Download the files needed from HERE", I click on the HERE, a new tab opens up with a rotating "loading page" icon, and then it times out. I've been trying for about half an hour now. I tried refreshing, logging out and back in again, but no luck???

Where's the beef?

Thanks,

Thaum

Okay, I tried just now and got it, but my ESET (NOD32) virus scanner immediately deleted it saying the file "rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin" was a Trojan.

I had to disable virus protection to download it. Is this a known false positive, and if so, why hasn't anyone else brought it up in this thread?

Thanks.

Never-mind, I figured it out. Mike, I think you should take the part out where you tell the user to reboot there phone after installing the Soup or Root file. That appears to have been my problem.

Anyway, THANK YOU very, very, very, very, very much for all your hard work!!! You're my American Idol. :D

Haha! Glad it worked! Not coming down on ya but i mean this in a constructive way,

My problem used to be that i didnt actually read the directions thuroughly and always messed stuff up using fastboot or flashing roms... what im saying is, the instructions say dont reboot after flashing soup, just continue to next step. I messed up 3 times because i didnt follow the instructions i just skimmed thru and assumed i was right.

Just saying, when it comes to flashing.... read very very carefully because the instructions{ though some are a little vague} are the proper procedures and will work if followed to the _T_

Again glad it worked and if u need help with anything else, PM me and ill be more than happy to help however i can

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I was wrong. I went back and read again and I saw where I misunderstood. Mike wasn't saying to reboot your phone...he was saying the screen will say to reboot your phone. My bad. :o

Thanks again.

It's back up. I had Two major issue on one of my servers that took me a few hours to get it back up and the website was offline durring that time.

Thanks Mike, I can now download the program. Any clue why some Anti Virus (MS Forefront, etc) programs are flagging this file as a virus?
