Root Successfully rooted ZTE Avid 4G (MetroPCS)

When i type:
[HIGH]cd..[/HIGH]
[HIGH]cd..[/HIGH]
[HIGH]cd 6[/HIGH]
[HIGH]root[/HIGH]
this shows up...

The phone doesn't reboot...but the command promp acts like it still runs the root.

If you extracted just "6" to C:\ then you don't need to do the cd .. crap. You can simply go to command prompt and type cd C:\6 and it'll enter that dir and type root I really am not sure why that guy decided to add the cd ..'s when it's easier to just tell you to cd the dir location in one command.

FYI...

I purchased my phone on 3/28/13. Running Win8. Was having the same problems of the root.bat simply stalling and not seeing the phone.

I ended up downloading the drivers from zteusa.com, installing them (self-contained .exe), rebooting my computer. Plugging in my phone already booted so that Win8 "installed" my drivers. In MTP USB mode it popped up two windows explorer windows--one for my phone and one for my SD card. (Note: it does this also with the 'default' Win8 drivers, which did not work with the root.bat file.)

I then booted my phone into FTM, plugged in the USB cable, ran root. It took about 2.5 seconds to run the .bat file before the first reboot, and was simililarly quick after the second two reboots, so have your finger already sitting on your down volume key.

Hey, i used a root guide from this website for the zte avid and it installed correctly. i was able to go to the phone and see if it worked and did so i decided to change the system font everything went OK , then asked to reboot pressed OK and rebooted and now its stuck on the ANDROID letters on the boot screen and wont change. Please i would be very happy if i got a response.

Alright, I have tried this over and over for about 2.5 hours. It is not working. My phone stays in FTM mode, what am I doing wrong?

When you are in ftm mode, does your pc recognize your phone?

I need pictures and instructions for mountain lion. I've rooted a phone before with a flashed rom from the sd card, but never from the mac terminal. My computer doesn't see the phone in FTM mode. Is there like someone who can give instructions with pics, please.
Thank you

on phone go into settings, then choose connect to PC and where it says connect type choose Install Driver. Then connect the phone to PC with phone on (regular boot). once u connect it to CPU it should auto install zte drivers. afterwards unplug phone and boot into ftm and start the root process

actually when u first connect phone to PC u should get a notification giving u options to what u want the phone to do. just put it on install driver. *this is with phone regular booted, not ftm
